| The Beer Checkers Drinking Game

Drinking games are very common among people who love to have a good time as they consume their favourite drinks. Beer checkers is another form of drinking game that can be played either in at the local bar or even at home. The game is very easy and only requires a minimum of two people. Spectators are also allowed in this game in order to cheer the players of the drinking game.
The requirements of beer checkers are a waterproof checker board and twenty four cups that are used in place of the normal checker pieces. The checker board is just like the normal checker board but this one has larger spots to accommodate the cup’s entire base. The cups used in this game are different for each player in order make a distinction. Players may also decide to use different colours of drink such as a light and a dark colour beer so as to easily distinguish the cups.
At the beginning of the game, the cups are always half filled with beer. The players of beer checker also define the rules of the game in order to avoid disputes. The cups are moved on the checker board normally just like the normal checker pieces. During the game, a cup that is skipped by another player’s cup obliges the owner of that cup to drink the beer from the skipped cup. Just like in the normal checker the king piece enjoys some privileges, cups that reach the king’s row are filled to the brim with beer to signify the importance of that particular cup.
The climax of the game is when a player cannot move any of the cups on the checker board because all the spaces have been blocked or the player does not have any remaining cups on the board. As per the rules of the game, the losing player is faced with a challenge of drinking all the beer in the cups that are on the checker board. Increase in of intoxication due to increase in amount of beer taken by a player increases the chance that the player will make the wrong moves on the board. This makes the game even more exciting and fun for all to participate and watch.
Depending on where the game is played, there are different names such as shot glass checkers, beer checkers, and shotglass checker. Some people even refer to the drinking game as shot glass chess. This game requires a lot of skills and prior experience in playing chess or draught can help a player win it with ease. It is very popular with colleges from all over the world due to the high number of young people who love to have a good time while playing it.
This “drinking game” promotes interaction between the players and does not require a lot of people to be played. The rules are also very easy to understand hence new comers who have no experience in the game can also learn and participate in it.
